Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.” On the contrary, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same? . . .

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times, but seventy-seven times!

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.

“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, and do not give the devil a foothold.

Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God— the gospel He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Him and on behalf of His name, we received grace and apostleship to call all those among the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith. . . .

Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

Bless those who persecute you. Bless and do not curse.

When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even the man’s enemies live at peace with him.

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will become like wool.

But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

So then, let us pursue what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.

So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

If you see the donkey of one who hates you fallen under its load, do not leave it there; you must help him with it.

Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against any of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

“When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited. Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ And in humiliation, you will have to take the last place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that your host will come and tell you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in front of everyone at the table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, even though we have rebelled against Him

Do not say, “I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the LORD, and He will save you.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away,

Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to dwell in us yearns with envy?

Jesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’?

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
