The tempest comes from its chamber, and the cold from the driving north winds. By the breath of God the ice is formed and the watery expanses are frozen.

For now the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers have appeared in the countryside; the season of singing has come, and the cooing of turtledoves is heard in our land.

At that time the Feast of Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,

Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath.
