Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?

Precious treasures and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man consumes them.

So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches?

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.

The man’s name was Elimelech, his wife’s name was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah, and they entered the land of Moab and settled there. Then Naomi’s husband Elimelech died, and she was left with her two sons, who took Moabite women as their wives, one named Orpah and the other named Ruth. And after they had lived in Moab about ten years, both Mahlon and Chilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and without her husband. . . .
