For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. . . .
As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different ministries, but the same Lord. . . .
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. . . .
If anyone speaks in a tongue, two, or at most three, should speak in turn, and someone must interpret.
For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace—as in all the churches of the saints.
None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. So for a full year they met together with the church and taught large numbers of people. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
One afternoon Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those entering the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked directly at him, as did John. “Look at us!” said Peter. So the man gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. . . .
Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away,
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
In those days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Grecian Jews among them began to grumble against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve summoned all the disciples and said, “It is unacceptable for us to neglect the word of God in order to wait on tables. Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men confirmed to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will appoint this responsibility to them and will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, as well as Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. . . .
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord. He approached the high priest and requested letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way, he could bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As Saul drew near to Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” “Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied. . . .
And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence.
You must not add to or subtract from what I command you, so that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you.
His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
Whoever listens to you listens to Me; whoever rejects you rejects Me; and whoever rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”
Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve.
And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
