Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Pray without ceasing.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.
But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.
And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard.
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:
Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful,
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
“Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
In those days Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer.
But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth.
What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And when you do ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may squander it on your pleasures.
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and slipped out to a solitary place to pray.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his prosperity and doubled his former possessions.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.”
One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Jesus answered, “This kind cannot come out, except by prayer.”
So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at daybreak I lay my plea before You and wait in expectation.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
With one accord they all continued in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.
And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
For no word from God will ever fail.”
And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
You crave what you do not have; you kill and covet, but are unable to obtain it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.
And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
May my prayer be set before You like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Is any one of you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.”
The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper.
Seek out the LORD and His strength; seek His face always.
During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.
Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.”
This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon come to pass. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John,
Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers there. But exclude the courtyard outside the temple. Do not measure it, because it has been given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for 42 months. And I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” These witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouths and devours their enemies. In this way, anyone who wants to harm them must be killed. . . .
Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you. Heaven must take Him in until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God announced long ago through His holy prophets.
So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He granted our request.
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.
Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”
Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
When I heard these words, I sat down and wept. I mourned for days, fasting and praying before the God of heaven.
Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.
Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.
He will turn toward the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their prayer.
I call on You, O God, for You will answer me. Incline Your ear to me; hear my words.
For the choirmaster, to be accompanied by flutes. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. Attend to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at daybreak I lay my plea before You and wait in expectation.
For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved my distress; show me grace and hear my prayer.
The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear-minded and sober, so that you can pray.
I always thank my God for you because of the grace He has given you in Christ Jesus.
If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.

But you, beloved, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
So Jesus told them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”
A second time He went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass unless I drink it, may Your will be done.”
“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. . . .
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
