Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged.
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.
“Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.”
A wise son heeds his father’s discipline, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.
But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for they will add length to your days, years and peace to your life.
Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

For Christ is the end of the law, to bring righteousness to everyone who believes.
Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where he found a disciple named Timothy, the son of a believing Jewish woman and a Greek father. The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, so he took him and circumcised him on account of the Jews in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. As they went from town to town, they delivered the decisions handed down by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey. So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers. . . .

But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”
