Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
You, O LORD, will keep us; You will forever guard us from this generation.

And Saul was there, giving approval to Stephen’s death. God-fearing men buried Stephen and mourned deeply over him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them. . . .
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
So it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
