He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For the law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. If it could, would not the offerings have ceased? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt the guilt of their sins. Instead, those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You prepared for Me. . . .

To do righteousness and justice is more desirable to the LORD than sacrifice.

For the law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
Otherwise, Christ would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
And where these have been forgiven, an offering for sin is no longer needed.
