Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates, so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.

So teach us to number our days, that we may present a heart of wisdom.
