So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you beforehand and make arrangements for the bountiful gift you had promised. Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness.
Because of the proof this ministry provides, the saints will glorify God for your obedient confession of the gospel of Christ, and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all the others.
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what is yours, do not demand it back.
They are ever generous and quick to lend, and their children are a blessing.

The multitude of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned. Isn’t it to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your home, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

As soon as night had fallen, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went into the Jewish synagogue. Everyone must appear with a gift as he is able, according to the blessing the LORD your God has given you.
