The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love. For he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches?
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house or field, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?

You shall not steal.
Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of life that God has given him—for this is his lot. Furthermore, God has given riches and wealth to every man, and He has enabled him to enjoy them, to accept his lot, and to rejoice in his labor. This is a gift from God.
You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.
You must not steal. You must not lie or deceive one another.
Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt: “Only you have I known from all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.” Can two walk together without agreeing where to go? Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl in his den if he has caught nothing? Does a bird land in a snare where no bait has been set? Does a trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch? . . .
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.
